Lecture on «Prevention of diabetes»

On 14 November 2017, a lecture on «prevention of diabetes» was delivered by L.M. Kininbayeva, teacher of healthy lifestyle for the 2nd year students. Diabetes is classified as a socially significant disease in Kazakhstan, that demands systemic solutions and government responses. In accordance with the 2016 data of statistics, 200,4 occasions of a diabetes were registered throughout the country in comparison with 172,7 in 2015. But, according to the data of International Diabetes Federation, the number of patients with a diabetes in RK is 536 400 people (Diabetic atlas IDF, 6th edition updated in 2014).

Diabetes is often diagnosed only after the onset of complications, which complicates treatment. It is believed that screening helps to identify about one third of all persons with diabetes.
